Mechanic: Light Duty: Neptune City 07753
The Children's Center of Monmouth County, a Private school for students with disabilities and The Adult Day Program is in need of a Mechanic (Light Duty) to work with us on school vans, automobiles, small and mid-size buses. Our mechanics serve a critical role in maintaining our transportation services in top notch condition.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performing routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, troubleshooting, brake inspections, minor repairs, etc.
- Assist in the diagnoses and repair of vehicles in order to keep everyone safe on the road.
- Consistently conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems/safety concerns.
- Assist with MVC Inspections.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately troubleshoot vehicle issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles.
- Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
- Maintain excellent communication between and among co-workers and campus administration.
Experience preferred is:
- Minimum of 1-2 years related experience as a mechanic.
Proficient in diagnosing and repairing basic mechanical problems in vehicles. - Experience working with typical, often used mechanical tools and equipment.
- Familiarity with power tools and their proper usage.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and instructions if needed.
- Excellent safety record.
Requirements include but are not limited to:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as a member of the team.
- Excellent communication skills.
Job Type: Part-Time or Full-time.
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour.
